2010 New Years Resolutions

So the new year is almost upon us and some of us are already drawing up new years resolutions. Myself included! I however, prefer to call them 'goals'. The new year shouldn't be the only time you think about what you should strive for, but in any case it's a good time to start.

Every year around this time I will sit down and write up my list of goals, things I want to achieve and things I'd like to acquire. I strike these off as each goal is achieved and revise the list as needed throughout the year. This year my list will begin as such:

Do well at TAFE: After spending a year and a half working full time to save the necessary funds for my course (diploma of fashion design) this one is a given!

Start saving for a house: The idea is to start small and put $10 or $20 aside a week. When I finish study I can work harder on this.

Finish five feature artworks: Every year I set out to create 5 artworks be it a painting, drawing or pastel work worth hanging. I have only ever completed 3 or 4 in previous years.

Go blonde! They say every girl should go blonde at least once to 'get it out of their system'. I intend to use it as a starting point to go pink, red, blue, whatever I want! I've dyed my hair black for 5 years so it's time for a bit of change. I still have a fair bit of black dye to grow out though.

Get my driver's licence: It's time for me to ditch the L plates. Bring on the P's. I've almost finished my 100 hours so I need to work on fine turning my driving skills so I can ace the test.

Get rid of everything that isn't needed: I have a lot of old clothes and things that are just wasting space. I'm going to try and sell things on ebay or give them away bit by bit until they are all gone. Then they can be useful to somebody else.

Then there is the list of things I want to get.

  • A Speedlight SB-900 Flash for my Nikon D80 DLSR camera.

  • A queen sized queen anne bed. I have a double queen anne bed but find a queen sized one has so far proved impossible to find!

  • The remaining gayware pieces to complete my collection. The last few to elude me are the butter dish, cheese dish, honey container and the salt & pepper shakers.

  • A new handbag! I seem to have outgrown mine. I'm such a fuss pot though so finding one I even remotely like will be a mission in itself

So that's that. It seems to be a smaller list than usual however each goal seems to hold more importance than years before. I would also be interested in hearing everyone else's goals and resolutions for the new year. Bring on 2010!
