I've decided I am in love with Gay Ware and want the whole collection! The love affair started when I was bidding on a red and white Gay Ware table set butter dish on eBay. I was outbid by a mere one dollar because I forgot about the time. I was so INFURIATED that I screamed. My boyfriend ran out because he thought I was hurt, only to find me sitting in front of the computer tearing my hair out. That was the day I decided to succumb and subscribe to auction sniper. It was the best thing I ever did and makes me an almost invincible force in the bidding wars. So to all you bidders on eBay. DON'T CROSS ME, or I'll hit you at the last second with my big, ugly bidding stick!
Anyhow, after that unfortunate incident, the first piece of Gay ware I won was a gorgeous salt caddy that hangs on the kitchen wall. I don't have a photo of it as I've packed it away safely for when I have my own kitchen. There's no way in hell I'm risking it's integrity in this one!
I've just received these spice containers in the mail.
Oh and I've just won the large set for Flour, Sugar, etc. as well!
All I need now is the table set of Jam, Honey, Sugar, Cheese, Butter and the Salt & Pepper caddy. The prices seem to be going up and up so it's not a cheap obsession. Hopefully I will find them all soon.
What great sets, I'm on a constant look out for them but they dont seem to be around in New Zealand....sigh
